This song was one of the first to be written by the band, but one of the last to be recorded and mastered. Because of this, Eight Piece Puzzle went through many different changes including adding more sections, changing drum parts, and even recording new guitar parts all together. The lyrics were a combination of Gabe's verses and Darius' chorus and breakdown. The interlude after the solos had Julian, Darius, Zack and Gabe record one line each respectively. The name came from the fact that a sideways eight is a lemniscate.
